Cousins

The boys have so much fun with Nathan and Kendall when we get the chance to visit in Colorado. Tanner and Nathan are only 6 months apart and Jake and Kendall are only 6 months apart.
It is fun to see them interact and listen to some of their crazy conversations! They are the best at using their imagination and just being plain silly!
Jake and Kendall have the same 2 year old language and it is funny how they can sometimes understand each other even if no one else can! There is nothing like a good buddy to play catch with....

or to give you underdogs in the swing! Nathan is seriously so strong....he could probably carry me around no problem!

We love you guys and miss you!!

The Cardon Inn!

I am so lucky to have married into a family with the best In-Laws ever! (although, I don't really like that term)! The boys and I were lucky enough to stay with Jimmy and Cari for three weeks before we headed down to AZ. The boys were in heaven and I always feel so comfortable when I am with them. They always make me feel right at home and I really do love staying with them! Here are only some of the things that we enjoy while we are in Littleton!
Their backyard is a true Oasis! From the amazing garden to the soft green grass....and the tranquil sound of the fountains....this picture is good, but it doesn't even do it justice. We spent the majority of our days in the backyard and we LOVED it!
All the boys helped Papa build this sandbox in the backyard! It was hard work but they helped shovel all the sand out of the back of Papa's truck and it was so exciting for them to play in it after they helped! Papa even showed them how to build bridges and rivers!

And who wouldn't LOVE to pick raspberries in the raspberry tunnel!?

Doing art with Mammy was a definite hit! and they all love getting their hands a little dirty!:) They LOVE the tricycle....

and the tractor....

and the swing!

They love helping Mammy take care of the garden and always take turns watering!

The boys never passed up the oppurtunity to watch Papa work....and help when they could...
Or go for a ride in Papa's truck...

Or have a dance party with all of Papa's imaginary instruments! The boys loved the song so much and Papa would play it over and over and over for them just like they like it!

A lot of days ended with a bath from Mammy and books before bed...Mammy is the BEST story teller!
I cannot thank you enough for all your help with the boys while I was there. I love staying in your home and I love the warm feeling we have when we are there! We can't wait to come back and see you guys soon! We LOVE you!

Tanner's Birthday Celebration!

The birthday boy started out his morning with a date to IHOP for smiley face pancakes with his Mammy and Papa and cousin Nathan. I had to wake him up so that he could go and at first he wouldn't wake up, but then I whispered in his ear "Tanner, It's your birthday...Mammy and Papa want to take you to breakfast!" And he shoots up like he was never asleep and says..."Mom! It's my birthday! I am four! I get to use the special birthday bowl! I am sooo lucky! I am sooo lucky! I am sooo lucky!" haha...funny!

Then later that morning I took Tanner with me to pick out some yummy lunch stuff(basically food that I ususally don't buy) for us to take to the park. We had so much fun at the grocery store...just Tanner and Me! Our lunch consisted of Lunchables, Caprisuns, a bag of cheetos, and a bag of BBQ chips....and let's not forget the fruit leathers that he saw last minute in the produce section. He said "Oh MOM! We HAVE to have these!"

We went to the best park in Highland's Ranch. It was the perfect day and there was barely anyone there which made it even better!

Totally in his element! Outside and Water...probably Mikey's two favorite things!

Sweet Kendall

After wearing the boys out at the park we came home and took naps and I whipped out this bad boy. Tanner kept saying he wanted a spiderman cake and I couldn't really figure out why. He has never seen the movie or do we have any spiderman stuff in our house....but whatever. Then I was talking to Melis and she reminded me that Price had a spiderman cake and I remembered showing Tanner his cake back in June. And the it all made sense....so here you have it...a Spiderman cake....thank goodness I only have to please 4 year olds and younger. :) All the boys loved it though and that is what matters!(my favorite part was that I made it a red velvet cake...because that is my favorite and since it was red it worked perfect!)

They really are monkeys!:)It is sad to watch my baby grow up...man he is getting so big! I had three favorite moments today with Tanner where I almost had tears drop.

The first one was when we were decorating the cake I said "Tanner, I am sad that you are getting so big! I want you to be little again! I don't want you to grow up!" and he said, "Why mom? Because you can't hold me anymore because I am so big!?" and I just smiled and said...."Yes".

Then after he opened presents it was a little chaotic with everyone yelling and ready for pizza and I just leaned over to him and gave him a big hug and said "Happy Birthday Tanner! " and he looked up at me like he was 15 and said "Thanks Mom...(pause)...Thanks for Everything"...in his sweet innocent voice. It was so sincere it almost made me cry!

And finally tonight when I was putting the boys to bed he kinda started to whine and started to say "Mom....will you lay...(and then he stopped and looked at me with this big smile and proceeded to say)...nevermind....I am 4!" And that was that!

11 days and counting...

Until these boys get to see their Daddy and I get to see my HUBBY! Can't wait! LOVE YOU!

Tanner Turns 4!!

At almost this exact time 4 years ago, I was being admitted in to the hospital to give birth to my first child! Holy Moly...where does the time go? I swear it feels like yesterday that I had this little tiny baby who constantly furrowed his brow...to an infant who LOVED and still does LOVE his shows and movies...to a toddler who you could never get mad at because of his contagious smile and way with words...and now to a little boy who has grown up so fast and who already cannot even wait to turn 5!!! Happy Birthday T-man!

POPCORN POPPING!

Justin's Mom, Susan brought Alisa some fresh peaches from Palisade one afternoon while we were all over at her house hanging out. She also brought the boys this fun little popcorn cob.
So we conducted an experiment....
Would the corn pop on the cob or off the cob? Well, it ended up doing both...and the boys were amazed! It was a fun afternoon activity and snack all in one!

Drive In Movie

All week long the boys have been earning their "dollars" so that they would be able to pay for their movie ticket at the amazing "Drive-In" that Auntie Alisa had been preparing.The tickets weren't cheap so they had to be on their best behavior! They were devastated when they got money taken away when they were being naughty or not obeying...but lucky for them...they all seemed to earn enough to pay for their ticket! Here they are buying it from Uncle Justin(aka...the ticket holder) in Nathan's closet. It was well equipped with a black light that totally added to the whole effect! Boy were they excited!

After they payed for their ticket...they were able to enter the Theatre which was adorned with twinkle lights all over and moons and stars that they had helped prepare and of course last but definitely not least.....the "Concession Stand"! Where once again they had to use their money to pay for their treats. And don't worry folks...there were no limitations at the Drive-in. If they had money to pay for it...they could buy it!

The night before they had decorated their cars with wheels, head lights, and even a sterring wheel! Here they are all snug in their cars ready to watch the feature presentation:BOLT!

Fun was had by all!!! It was a huge success! The boys will always remember the Hillan Drive In! I guess we will just have to make more frequent trips to Denver just so we can go there!

We Miss Our Daddy!

The boys fell right to sleep last night with a picture of Doug right in between them. It was rather sweet....they miss their Daddy! And so do I! We love you!

INTRODUCING TODD AND MARTHA CARDON!

The happy couple got married last Friday 8/28/09! The sealing and the reception were both amazing and we are so excited to welcome Martha to the family! Now a little less pressure is taken off of me to produce STRONG CARDON boys to carry on the Cardon name!...because now Martha is a Cardon too!! just kidding....I know you guys just got married....and are not even thinking about kids yet...but I am just saying!:) It was fun to see a lot of Doug's extended family that were able to make it too! A lot of great family and friends to support Todd and Martha on their special day!
Here is the happy couple coming out of the temple! I am pretty sure they had perma-grins on! And of course Martha let out a shout for joy!:)
