Thanksgiving 2008

THE PREPARATIONS...

Apparently you can't have Thanksgiving without homemade root beer!(according to Kyle and Doug)....so that is exactly what we had!  And it was sooooooo good!

And of course I didn't take any pictures while we were all eating!  But I did get some pictures of the aftermath...

We were so lucky to have all of Doug's family here in Mesa for Thanksgiving!  It was so fun to have the company and to see everyone!  And although we live close to some family...it would be so nice to live close to all of our family!  But we will take what we can get!  

Weekend Visitors!

This weekend we were so lucky to have Peggy and Courtney Wood come into town from Vancouver, and stay with us!  Courtney had an Irish Dance Competition in Phoenix on Friday where she did absolutely amazing....placing 28th out of 135 contestants!!!  Which qualified her for Nationals this summer held in Nashville!  We were so excited for her!  We were bummed we weren't able to make it to any of the competition because Jake came down with a fever.:(

Here she is in her gorgeous solo dress!  (Peggy, I stole this from your Facebook....hope you don't mind!)  She is such a pretty little lady!  Melis and I  started babysitting for these girls when we were only 12 and they were just babies!

Tanner and Jake of course made instant friends and loved loved loved having someone new around that played with them!  It is crazy how Courtney could now watch my children and I use to babysit her! We were able to hang out all day Saturday and go shopping and just catch up! Peggy even made a batch of her amazing chocolate chip cookies (which are already gone)  We had such a blast....thanks again Peggy for spoiling us!

And here is one of Jaycee girl because she did so good this weekend so that we could all hang out and shop!  It was so much fun!  Come back and visit soon!

Separation Anxiety!

Tanner has grown very attached to Price since we have been back from Virginia.  Not that he wasn't when we lived here before that, but it has grown to a whole new level!:)  For Family Home Evening last week we had a lesson on being grateful and we made grateful leaves and Tanner's three leaves said....Cars, Trucks, and Price!  They go to Preschool together and play with each other a lot of afternoons as well....yet, he still can't get enough!  Today while Erin and the boys were over, I found them outside with their pants down peeing together in the rocks!  And not only that, later on I found them in the bathroom taking turns doing #2!  I had no idea a potty partner was so much fun!  A couple of weeks ago I dropped Tanner off at preschool and there were already a group of the boys playing with some cars in a circle.  Price yelled to Tanner to come over and Tanner tried to get in the circle and see what was going on, but one of the older boys was telling him he couldn't touch and play.  So Price gets up on his knees and sticks his chest out and yells in the boys face "HE CAN PLAY!"  (like if that boy didn't let Tanner in on the action Pricey was going to have to do something about it:)).  It was tooooo cute! Tanner wakes up from his nap almost every day asking for a snack and if he can play with Price.  I think that he just feels the need to ask everyday in hopes that maybe that day I will say "Okay, get your shoes....let's go see Price!"  I am sure their  relationship will continue to grow stronger, but it really is a sweet one and I love that they are not only good friends but cousins as well!

The Boys Meet Jaycee!

Jake has really warmed up to Jaycee and can actually get kind of possessive with her.  Which is what I thought he would do.  If he wants to hold her, HE WANTS TO HOLD HER! He likes to kiss her and sort of poke parts on her face to say what they are.  Sometimes he doesn't even want you to take her from him if she is crying.   I hope that Jaycee is my trial run for Jake and hopefully he will be used to a little one around by the time I have my baby. Only time will tell!

Oh man.....am I going to be grateful for my oldest child (that is weird to say that he is "my oldest) when I have this next little guy! Can I just tell you how sweet he is with little Jaycee! He loves loves loves to hold her and is so "motherly/fatherly" with her, holding her binky in or "shhhh shhhh shhh". He would hold her forever....it is so sweet!

We are so happy that she has finally arrived! After Melissa was in labor for a LONG 36 hours, we are just glad that Jaycee is here and that both Melissa and her are doing so well! I already can't get enough of that little Jaycee....she is truely a little doll!!

Halloween 2008

We had such a blast this Halloween! We ended up going to Kyle's sisters neighborhood where they block of part of the street and have bouncers for the kids and a buffet of soups and rolls and the cutest pumpkin bread bowls! Tanner and Jake were Army guys.....basically because it was easy. Although I was feeling a little guilty because Tanner really wanted to be a racecar driver, but maybe next year because I wasn't that prepared this year. He didn't care anyways....it was more me caring than him! But after I realized how much he LOVES this holiday, I will try to be more on the ball next year. Tanner had a blast trick or treating with Bobo and Briggy....Wende's two boys....and he could have gone all night! He had to show Papa his treat he got after he went to every single door! It was pretty funny! And don't forget Denyse and cute little Kadence (7 weeks old) who were Cardinal fans!!
