huh?

Tonight we were driving and all of the sudden out of nowhere Tanner says,

"Mom!....It smells like Beef and Cheese!"

I just laughed and thought "where the heck did he pick that up?"

Later I was talking to Doug(who is in Chicago right now) and told him what Tanner said and that I have no idea where he got it from and Doug goes, "Hun, it's on the movie ELF!" Which happens to be one of his favorite movies....just keeping it real....Nacho Libre and ELF.  Apparently ELF tells the fake Santa that he smells like Beef and Cheese.  Crazy Kid!

DADDY'S TRICKS

Just Because...

we were bored and we tend to be silly when we are bored....

Jake does the same face every time....even when we tell him to do a different one.  He thinks he is doing something different, but it is always this face...pretty funny!

(Tanner HAD to take pictures of me too)....but this next one is my ULTIMATE favorite!

Doesn't he look like a little fat kid??  Too bad he only weighs like 28 pounds...if that! haha....I was dying when we captured that face!  Love it!

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO LATELY

We have been going to the park as much as we can lately....when the weather permits it. Bottom Line... when we do see an inkling of sunlight we are outside in a heartbeat!  

We like the park ALOT because the boys tend to get antsy inside especially when we are limited with what we can do.  They have been playing doctor quite often....Mikey is such a good little patient!

But then they get really bored and like to get creative....FOR INSTANCE....

I have found pen, marker, crayon, and pencils in a million different places in the past week!  These places include and are not limited too....

the kitchen table

the couch

the wall(which Jake is so nicely cleaning up in this picture)

the body....legs, arms, hands, belly buttons, and even inside ears...like a pen was a Q-Tip

the windowsill

the kitchen floor

the carpet

the down comforter

the desk

and every page of a stack of post its.

They like to read their books when we are couped up, but this particular day was kinda funny.  One of Tanner's favorite books right now is his Little Critter book that has like 5 stories in it.  He has it memorized!  I could hear him reading it to Jake so I went to put Mikey down and when I walked into their room I heard a big rip. 

The first page that came out was by Jake....totally in character.  This is not the first book that child has ripped.

But the second page that was ripped out was completely OUT of character and was done by Tanner.

His explanation: "But MOM.....I don't like SNAKES!!!"

Mikey's 4 month Stats

We had Mikey's 4 month well-check today and here are the stats.

Height: 26 3/4 inches (92%)

Weight: 15 lbs. 11 oz. (57%)

Head Circ.: 16 1/4 inches (18%)

He is still a pretty happy camper for the most part!  He LOVES the tub and goes crazy when he gets in just splashing and kicking as much as possible.  Tanner and Jake get a kick out of watching him go nuts in the water because they like to do the same thing!

He LOVES watching his two older brothers who provide him with entertainment all day long!  He loves it when they are right in his face talking to him or singing him songs.  Tanner likes to snuggle with him and Jake likes to lay on those kisses about a million times a day.  I am always wiping slobber from Jakes mouth off of Mikeys face....very sweet, yet kinda gross.  

Unfortunately we have been dealing with this odd rash that he is getting all over his face since last Friday.  I can't figure out where it is coming from.  I thought at first that it was his formula because I did change brands so I hadn't given him a bottle in two days, but the rash was still there....so I counted that one out.  I haven't changed detergents, I haven't gotten new perfume, and I haven't changed my diet at all.  So this is a complete mystery to me.  It will be completely gone one minute and totally flare up the next.  So if anyone has experienced anything like this, I would love to hear about it.  Of course my doctor was no help today either and said to not worry about it, but of course when we were there he was barely rashy at all.  Don't you hate when that happens?

By the way....I love how his lips and cheeks are just laying on his shoulders in this picture!  So Juicy!!

Tanner's First Year of Preschool

Tanner's last day of Busy Bees Preschool was the Monday(4-13-09) before we left to come out to Virginia!  Boy is he sure missing it! And so am I!  He loves to socialize and learn new things, so it was perfect!  He absolutely loved his first year of preschool which didn't surprise me at all because before he even started preschool he was always asking when he would be able to go to big school!  I think that he is just really excited to ride a school bus someday!  

He LOVED his teacher Miss Nicole too!  He took her an apple a couple of times during the year.  I think he read it in one of his books so he was dead set on taking his teacher an apple just like they did in the book!  It was pretty cute.  Miss Nicole always did the funnest projects with the kids!  He was always coming home with the cutest things!  Here are just a few of them. 

At the beginning of the year, Tanner would sometimes come home with unfinished projects because he got frustrated with cutting.  He was good at it too, I just think that he was being lazy but after a couple heart to hearts about not bringing home unfinished projects anymore he became the master cutter and loves to cut to this day.  And he has been practicing writing his name too and is getting better and better!  It is kinda funny to watch him because he is a total lefty, but he does really well! He loves to learn and I love to watch him develop and grasp new concepts.

 Here is the class doing music time with the instruments!  Tanner's class had 10 boys and 1 girl in it....let's just say Miss Nicole is a SAINT!  

And one big hug from all the boys (I don't even think Sarah...the one little girl in the class....was in on this bear hug) before Tanner left.  I think that he is in the middle somewhere....you can't even see him!  They were all cracking up, it was pretty cute!

I know he can't wait for next year!  He was born for school...that's for sure!  Thanks to Miss Nicole for all her hard work during the year.  She is AWESOME!!!
