Jake Smiling

Jake is smiling and it is so fun to see him respond to you! It is crazy how you can love each of your children so much!  Whenever he smiles it makes my day.  He loves to smile for Doug and likes to look at his dark hair too.  It is kinda funny.  Even Tanner tries to make him smile.  Tanner always tells Jake that "It's okay Jake....don't cry" whenever he is crying and then he will turn to me and say "Mom....Jake's sad".  It is cute. They are going to be such good buddies!!

Happy 27th Birthday!!

Monday the 25th was Doug's birthday and our 3 year Anniversary!  We decided to celebrate his birthday on Sunday so that it would be nice and relaxing because during the week is crazy.  We just ended up having a big dinner and then opening presents and having cake and ice cream.  It was really fun.  Doug got new basketball shoes, shorts, and a new hat. Tanner wanted to be just like his Dad and wear his basketball shorts too.   Doug says he is easy to shop for, but when you have Father's Day, his Birthday and our Anniversary all in the same week I start to run out of ideas.  He is the best husband ever.....I always worry that he won't have a good birthday because it is on the same day as our Anniversary, but he loves the fact that they are on the same day and always remembers!!!

8 weeks already!

I can't believe Jake is already 8 weeks!  He is getting so big!! Well, not really....we went to his 2 month check-up yesterday and he weighs 11 pounds 11 ounces and is 22 1/2 inches.  He is really just still a little guy.  He had to get 5 shots and it was so sad.  I couldn't even watch.  He hated every part of that doctor's appointment...but I don't blame him.  He is smiling and cooing all the time now.  He is a sweet sweet baby.  I will post more pictures of him later.

Just for Fun!

Tanner and I were just messing around one day while we were visiting Grandma and Grandpa's house.  He loved it up there. These were just some pictures we took to send to Doug since he was already in Virginia.  We missed him tons while we were there.  That house is too big though, Tanner was always exploring and finding new things to get into that he wasn't supposed too.  I kept telling my Mom that I was kind of excited to get back to a little apartment....at least he would be a little more contained.  One day he found a Costco size bottle of shampoo and decided to dump it all out onto the carpet.  There were suds forever!
