Let's Just Say...I'm the Minority!

That's right....we are expecting our third baby BOY Dec. 20th!  And we are way excited!  I got a sneak peek ultrasound 3 weeks ago, but the little guy was being shy and wouldn't open his legs and then I went out of town for a while, so I just got my official ultrasound this morning and boy was he not being shy this time! Doug and I have both felt like it was a boy all along and today just confirmed that!  Sorry the pictures are blurry but at least you get the idea.  The top one is of his face and arm and the bottom one is the confirmation of the gender!:)  He was facing my back the whole time so we couldn't get any good profile shots...oh well!  It was still good to see that all is healthy and well with the little guy!  Tanner has named him "Crunch Crunch".....it all started a while ago when Melis asked him what he wanted to name the baby and he said "Captain Crunch" and he thought he was so funny!  Well, this has evolved into just "Crunch Crunch" and everytime he says it he cracks up.  So at least he is a boy if that is going to be his nickname!  We will see if it holds up!

You Know you had Fun...

(the following was written by Alisa, but it was said perfectly and she remembers every detail and I love it....so I hope she doesn't mind me copying, but I couldn't have said it better than this...)

when you start thinking about these boys and get a lump in your throat because they had to go home- far, far away. Memories made: Popsicles in the backyard, feeding the ducks, fat-free fried ice cream:), reading books in the tent, playing killer bunnies, Tanner's birthday party, caprese salad, Alvin and the Chipmunks at Bowles Crossing, finding amazing deals at JC Pennies, Gymboree , Gap, and Children's Place, Apples to Apples, Surprises from GG, splashing in the pool, Nathan "hugs"- sorry guys:), photo shoots, wadding in the creek,watering the garden, making butter for pioneer day, dinosaur capsules, visiting the fire station, Cindi sandwiches, riding the carousel,Apron history, picking peas and zucchini from the garden, Kendall crawling, the spray grounds, playing on the giant octopus with mammy,picnics at the park, playing bunny town aka: Smart A., purple play dough, marshmallow-less Lucky Charms ,running through papa's old fashioned sprinkler, reading books,Jakey's sprint accompanied by his dimples, treats and chats, the dollar store, free chicken strips at Chick-fil-a, and my very favorite:LAUGHING!

FHE with the FireFighters

The Monday night before we had to leave Littleton, we went and visited the Ken Caryl firefighters for FHE.  The boys helped Mammy make Zucchini muffins to take to them to say thank you.  They were kind enough to show the fire station and fire truck to them even though they were in the middle of dinner!  I am pretty sure these boys are some of their biggest fans!  

Tanner was talking a mile a minute asking every question he could think of....like, "Where is the fire?", "Where is the fire chief's truck?", "Does this truck have tools?" and about a million more.  And although Nathan was being a little more reserved you could tell he was soaking in every bit of this experience possible with that little twinkle in his eyes!  These two just might be future firemen!

Not Just Cousins....Buddies for Life!!

Alisa took some pretty cute pictures of Tanner and Nathan while we were in Denver.  They are hilarious to watch interact now that they are old enough to have meaningful conversations.  You would never know that they are only 6 months apart because Nathan is a whole head taller than Tanner, but they love each other just the same!!  And I added in that cute picture of Jake...because I love his innocent teethy(?) smile with those dimples of his.  He was always trying to keep up with the older boys....soon enough Kendall will be walking too and I am sure they will constantly be trying to do whatever Tanner and Nathan are doing.  I can't wait to see that!  Hey Alisa....since all our boys are only 6 months apart, shouldn't you be pregnant by now?

Spray Grounds

The week after our family reunion in LA, I flew to Denver for 10 days to visit Doug's family!  It was a blast to say the least!  We started off our week with a visit to this awesome park in Highlands Ranch. Tanner and Nathan were too occupied with this ladybug that they found to even worry about anything else going on around them.  It was pretty cute!  They were fascinated!!

Sanders Family Reunion 08'

Last week we had a Sanders family reunion in California for my mom's side of the family. I was able to take the boys and we flew with Melissa from Virginia and met up with the rest of our family in LA. Although our flight was somewhat of a nightmare, (go figure)...we arrived and had a blast! The reunion didn't start until Monday night, but we were able to fit in a couple extra days at Disneyland and California Adventure on top of the Huntington Beach, an awesome park, a family Luau and other fun activities! It was a blast to say the least. Tanner and Jake loved Disneyland! Everytime we would enter, Jake's arms would start flailing and he would just start pointing at everything and Tanner was so excited that he would just start talking a mile a minute! I am pretty sure the Buzz Lightyear ride was Tanner's favorite, because we went on it about 6 times. The boys were exhausted but did so well because we never stopped to take a break that week so they would just pass out in the strollers! We loved visiting with a lot of family that we aren't able to see very often. We have to give a huge thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Sanders who started such a great tradition with these reunions. They have both passed away within the last two years and they were very missed at this reunion! Doug wasn't able to come with us this time but we sure missed him and Tanner would call him and tell him about all his fun new adventures!

4th of July 2008

We had a blast this year on 4th of July!  The day started with a pancake breakfast at the church and then Melis and I decided to take the boys to the Fairfax 4th of July Parade.  It was so fun!  Tanner has never been to a parade before and he thought it was the best thing ever!  He was so happy watching cool vintage cars, firetrucks, bands, and big floats walk right in front of him! Not to mention a High School dance team that did a booty shake and got down....and I mean down right in front of us!  Holy Cow....we were laughing so hard, but that is a whole other story!  Anyways,  Jake actually enjoyed every second too....there was not a moment where I had to return their attention to the parade, because it never left the parade!  I loved it because growing up we would always to the Clearfield parade in Utah and either ride in my Grandpas old cars in the parade and throw out taffy to the kids or stand on the sidelines and get a huge bag of candy!!  That is one of my favorite 4th of July memories....spending it with Grandma and Grandpa, and I absolutely love love love traditions, so hopefully we can make this one for our family too. Anyways, later that afternoon we had a bbq with some friends in the ward and then headed back home to meet Doug(who had just gotten home from selling).  He got some fireworks to do with the boys and it worked out perfect because right after we did those it started to rain really hard!  So much for going to the firework show at the highschool here in town(which was the plan), instead we just played with the boys and watched the big fireworks show on tv while the boys were in bed!  Happy Independence Day!  

Just Remembering...

A year ago yesterday(I meant to post this yesterday) my little Tanner broke his femur.  It was one of the saddest hardest things I have seen and I can't even imagine the pain he was going through.   I am so glad that he was so strong and pulled through that one and his leg recovered stronger than it was before.  He wasn't even 2 yet and it definitely was the longest 6 weeks of my life, but we made it through....stinky cast and all!!  I love this little man!
