Jakey Poo

Jakey Poo (which is one of the nicknames I did not start...and quite frankly don't love) has been so hilarious lately!  The other night while we were waiting to go to dinner he was hamming it up for the camera.  I just love this little guy and I can't seem to get enough of either of my boys....well, I take that back...bedtime is awfully nice when that time comes around, yet I am excited to see their sweet faces when they wake up in the morning!

Last Sunday Melis and I flew out to Arizona for one of our best friends weddings!  We met Aubree when we went to a travel study in Nauvoo for a semester back in college.  Aubree is one of the most selfless people I have ever met and seriously deserves the best and I am pretty sure she found it!  Chris and her are so happy and are such a fun, easy-going couple.  They are perfect for each other.  We love Aubree to death and would not have missed being there for anything!

It is always fun to spend time with some of our sisters too.  Thanks Emily for letting us stay with you and add to the current crowd you already have at your home!  We went to breakfast for Erin's 30th birthday while we were there!  WooHoo...the big 30!  And why is it always so easy to stay up sooooo late and talk with your sisters and never go to bed!  Love you guys!

It will be so fun for Nash and Jake to have each other to hang out with when we get back to AZ!  They are only a week apart....sweet boys!

And thanks to Doug(and Amanda...who watched Tanner while Doug worked), I only took Jake with me this time.  Tanner and Daddy definitely had some bonding time and it was really good for them!  I am pretty sure Tanner loves Daddy's schedule and rules a lot more than mine now!  They did all sorts of fun things together and it made me feel so good that I didn't  have to worry about a thing and I could just enjoy the wedding.

A little of the latest...

Tanner is officially obssessed with coloring lately!  He never used to be to interested in it when he was younger, but maybe that is because I never gave him markers then.  Ever since he has gotten markers he will color forever!  I actually got a new box last week and half of them are already running out....and a couple have actually been swiped by Jake who decided it would be fun to bite off the top.    He actually wakes up asking if he can print off a picture from the computer to color and add to his massive stack of masterpieces.  I love that he loves to spend time coloring, it adds some more variety to our day!

Our little Jakey has turned into a complete monkey!  Which is why I decided to add the only picture we got from the National Zoo when we went a couple of weeks ago.  I have decided that Zoos are hard to get good pictures at....so I guess I didn't really try to hard to take a ton.  But the boys loved it and I am sure we will go back again before we head home to Arizona.  But back to Jake....he climbs on everything!  He loves to climb up on the table and up on the beds and pretend he is jumping which is more of an attempt, but he thinks it is hilarious.  I can't take my eye off him for a second or he is on top of something else!!  He is such a happy boy and is starting to say some more words like "Ouchie", and "Trink"(drink), and "Fishie".  Too cute for words!

One Sunday afternoon we went on a walk to feed the ducks.  Doug decided to take Tanner down into some big ditch to hunt for snakes....luckily none were found.  And then Doug made us walk back home a completely wrong way because he said it was all part of the adventure....it was pretty hilarious....it was some steep rain ditch on the side of a hill that I didn't get a picture of.  And now every time we drive by it Tanner says "Look, there is that silly way Dad told us to go!".  It was really nice to get out and enjoy how beautiful it is in Virginia.  But by the time we got back I could barely get my ring off because my fingers were swollen.....

Potty Training Tips Anyone?

So this is what the last couple of days have looked like around our house.  Tanner running around in his underwear because I decided that since we were finally home from all our vacations and travels that we really needed to hunker down and do this potty training thing.  He has no problem sitting on the toilet....but I swear the hardest part of all of this is for him to figure out the "feeling" of when he needs to go.  He will sit on the toilet for a long time and never go and then finally decide that he will try again later and within 5 minutes he is peeing on the floor.  Yesterday it was so funny/sad because he wanted to go on the toilet so bad and then he ended up peeing on the floor and he was just in tears because he didn't go on the toilet.  Do we just need to have a couple days of accidents?  And by the way....is it not soooo easy to just revert back to diapers and be lazy about all of this?  Because it is sooo tempting for me!  I have all sorts of treats and rewards and stuff that work for when he does go on the toilet......anyways, any tips?  Please!!!
